Kathy de Leon's prayers have been answered...in the form of Mark Dehesa, JWT's newest Account Manager, and the third Mark to presently roam the seventh floor.

Mark previously worked at Harrison Communications Inc. where he handled Globe Telecom. This perpetually smiling guy will now be entering the world of hair as he takes over our Cream Silk account.

The BAT Suman Parade

In case some of you missed it, last June 12 (Independence Day), BAT displayed some Pinoy spirit by parading around the office and giving each department one suman. That's right. ONE suman PER department. We're not one to complain though because after having nibbled a miniscule portion, we had to admit it was quite yummy!

The offering was accompanied by a mini cultural show that featured some amateur guitar strumming to an attempted Muslim dance performed by none other than DTI/BFAD coordinator Kat Moldes, who was dressed as a Sulu princess.

Yes, we Cannes!

After capturing the country’s first ever Cannes Gold Lion last year with the Lotus Spa RCs, JWT Manila is back in the hunt. JWT ECD Dave Ferrer and CD Joe Dy are heading to the most distinguished advertising festival in the world with fingers crossed, hoping that our lean but very well-selected batch of entries can continue our Gold Rush.

Last Minute (the band)

Last Minute

If agencies like BBDO-GO, JimBasic and Saatchi & Saatchi have their own in-house bands, JWT goes one step further to prove that they too, can be musically inclined.

Confined within our gray and white walls are a group of “reluctant rock stars” that have recently gotten together for an impromptu gig for former JWT planner Toni Platon’s farewell bash. “We thought of putting up a band 3 days before the party and had our one and only practice session the night before. It doesn’t take a genius to know why we’re called Last Minute”, says supposed band manager (although she won’t admit it) Cez Golez.

From last time’s performance, it appears that Last Minute’s music is a blend of acoustic rock and alternative. However, they’re very open to playing any requested song for as long as you tell them in advance. Well, we can’t wait for the next JWT get together because we hear these guys are scheduled to perform then. Will they be good enough to join this year’s Advertising Band Congress? We’ll leave the judging up to you.
